Jurong Lake Gardens

At Jurong Lake Gardens, CPG Consultants applied advanced hydraulic and hydrodynamic modelling to transform the lake into a functional and resilient freshwater ecosystem. Using 2D and 3D simulations, we optimised water circulation, reduced stagnation, and integrated biofiltration features such as floating wetlands and naturalised channels to improve water quality and manage sediment. The model also guided the creation of biodiverse habitats—supporting fish, birds, and macroinvertebrates—by ensuring hydrological conditions suited to native flora and fauna. Calibrated for climate variability, the system allows adaptive management of oxygen levels, algae growth, and runoff impacts. This project exemplifies PUB’s ABC Waters vision, turning Jurong Lake into a living waterscape where science, ecology, and design converge.
